The Sid Richardson Library announces the return of the Birthday Book Club for the 2016-2017 school year.
Parents who want to honor their child’s birth in this way may send $15.00 (cash or check made out to Librarian Kathy McIntire) to purchase a new book for the Selwyn School Library.
A brand new book is selected from a “wish list” of quality, hardback books, and a bookplate is put in the front of the book with the student’s name, birthday being celebrated, date presented to the library and names of those giving the book. Every effort is made to match the birthday book to the student’s interests. In addition to being able to be the first person to check out the book, your child will get their picture taken with the book which will be featured in the Selwyn School newsletter, and the picture will be added to a special “Birthday Bulletin Board” in the library.
The Birthday Book Club is a voluntary program. What a wonderful way to celebrate the life of your child, share the love of reading, and give a gift that benefits the library and our Selwyn students for years to come.
Birthday Book forms may be turned in any time during the school year for birthdays throughout the school year. Birthdays occurring during the summer months can be recognized in May or in August. It’s not too late to celebrate a summer birthday!
